Neal Urban Photography has found a love for dance photography and portraits. A ballet dancer moves across the floor with a near supernatural grace. The dancers body a blend of strength and elegance. Every leap, stretch, and pirouette is a testament to all those long hours spent rehearsing, learning, and challenging themselves. The muscles work in perfect coordination with each other, every movement appearing effortless as they master the most challenging tricks. With elegant step and beautiful movements, they tell an emotion and utter a word without words, engrossing an audience in an enchanting wordless conversation. Capturing a ballet dancer or any other dancer was an amazing challenge for Neal Urban Photography. Timing needed to be perfect. The dancer is the artist in these photo session. Dancers strive for perfection as they continue their dance journey. Neal Urban will team up with them and have the dancer correct any movements they feel need changes. A slight bend in the arm or raise of the leg can make a huge difference for a dancer, especially a ballet dancer.
Neal Urban Photography loved photographing this dance session at Neal Urban Studio in Buffalo. Charlotte is a beautiful ballet dancer and performer, specifically pointe. Her movements were so graceful and looked effortless. Even more beautiful was her personality. She connects with each movement, but always finishes with a contagious smile.
Neal Urban Portraits built this ring light for dance sessions in our studio. Something fun and exciting to add into a session. Great for highlighting muscle movement and drama! Neal Urban Photography asked Charlotte to do any dance moves that would keep her inside of the ring light. She did this, but then went releve! Crazy! Edited to black and white = artistic and dramatic. Love how her tutu pops up and creates a circle within the circle of the ring light. The hand painted back drop also shows more of its texture in the black and white.
Flowing skirts and dresses make for stunning dance photos. Anything to show off movement with the dancers body. Leotards show off line and definition of arms/legs if that is what a dancer wants to focus on for photos. Neal Urban Photography, especially Danielle Urban loves a good tutu!
