Wedding Portraits at Statler City

Gina and Rob had a gorgeous summer wedding! Gina was a stunning bride, as you can see in the image. They had their ceremony at St. Peter's RC Church in Lewiston, NY. For photos we went to a few different buildings in the downtown Buffalo area. They really liked Buffalo architecture, so we had the limo pull over at a few stops, and the wedding party jumped out. We made a quick stop at City Hall before heading over to the Statler for the reception in the Golden Ballroom.

About a year before the wedding, we did Gina and Rob's engagement session at Niagara Square, City Hall, and Statler. We were able to use the Golden Ballroom too! This was great because we took images that would look completely different from the wedding. Their session was in the winter, so even the outdoor photos looked different. For the wedding day, we wanted to take advantage of photos inside of the Statler to tie in the engagement session. We arrived a few minutes before cocktail hour started and took the bride and groom around the venue. We had access to the Red Room located upstairs. The wall paper and style of this room was perfect for this couple. They had a very elegant wedding and this room captured it all.

At first, we posed the bride alone in the image. There was gorgeous light coming through the window. Now, we wanted to bring in the groom. We really liked the gold frames in the room. We positioned Rob, so his reflection would be in the mirror. We had him look in the opposite direction of the bride. We had to splash a tiny bit of light on Rob, so he would be lit how his lovely wife was. The bride had no idea this was going to be the look of the image, as she was looking out the window. This is a favorite image from Gina and Rob's wedding!
