Groom and his Groomsmen

Groom and his Groomsmen

Emily and Brandon are such a great couple! They were such a joy to photograph. After an amazing engagement session using an old vintage car and hacker craft boat, we knew wedding day was going to be so much fun! They got married on New Year's Eve of 2018! They had their wedding ceremony at All Saints Roman Catholic Parish. Their reception was at the Rapid's Theatre. Two gorgeous locations!

The groom and groomsmen got ready at a family home, right down the road from Freedom Run Winery, where the bride and bridesmaids were getting ready. It was logistically perfect to get both bride and groom portraits before the ceremony. It was a gloomy rainy day, with some dark clouds. Everything looked a little gray. We needed to use that to our advantage for Brandon and his groomsmen. There was a long driveway next to the house that lead up to a hill. Not a high incline, but just enough to get a nice amount of sky in the image.

We had all of the guys simply stand in somewhat of a line with their hand in their pockets. Casual and cool. Then we had them all look off to their left. We separated the groom from the pack and did specific lighting on him. We only wanted the light to hit Brandon and give him a slightly warm glow. This helped to have him stand out and the rest of the guys in silhouette. We had him look the opposite way toward the light.

This image has such a dark and dramatic feel. But when you see the groom, you get a warm and happy vibe! You can even see a little smile on his face!
