We always try to get bridal portraits right after the bride gets into her dress. Kelly got ready at the Hampton Inn and Suites in downtown Buffalo. She had a huge room. It actually was a two bedroom suite.
While all the bridesmaids were in one room, we cleared out the other for bridal portraits. We like to have the bride all alone to get some really great photos. The room had some really fun pictures on the wall. We loved this red one. Neal had the bride stand in front of it. We wanted the back ground to be completely red. We pulled her veil over her shoulder. Then we asked her to look down.
This image also captures the hard work that the hair and makeup artist do. We have her look down, so we can see her eye makeup. There is a lot of time and money spent on this, so we always try to document it. But, we like to do it in an artistic way.
This red back ground looked so good. Neal Urban decided to shoot the image pretty close up. This allowed him to capture her face and makeup, as well as her pearl earrings. I thought this was great. Brides love details. There are so many when she is getting ready too. There are times where a piece of jewelry has been handed down from a grandparent, or a homemade handkerchief or garter. We ask all of our brides to make sure that all of these details are out for us to take photos of. We want to make sure we capture every detail involved for the big day!
Kelly and Tom had their ceremony at Queen of Heaven Church in Buffalo. We did their photos at the Buffalo Central Terminal. They had their reception in the Terrace Room at the Statler in downtown Buffalo.
