We went to the McGuire Family home for their Family Portrait Session. They had just moved in and wanted us to document some images there. We started off the session outside. We had some great lighting in the backyard. Then we moved inside of the house. They had a gorgeous house. It had so much character and charm. Besides doing group shots, we wanted everyone to have some solos. They had two children. We asked them both where they wanted their portraits taken. Both kids said their rooms!
You can see in this image, this guy loves his sports! His entire room was sports themed. It looked awesome! He loves hockey and had a ton of hockey sticks. We had him pick his favorite and he naturally posed like this with the stick. His room was pretty dark, so we had to sneak in lighting through his doorway. We tried to have the light focus on him, and keep the rest of the image a little darker. But you can still see all his fun sports memorabilia in the back.
Having family portrait sessions done at peoples' homes can sometimes be challenging. We do not always know how much room or where we are able to take photos in the house. We love when people send over a few images of their favorite spots or rooms in the house. Either way, we are always up for the challenge!
